Problems in the Process of Carton Die-cutting

In the carton die-cutting process, we often encounter many problems, if these problems are not handled well, it will affect the carton printing, causing incalculable losses. Problems in the carton die-cutting process are as follows.

1. poor printing and cutting accuracy

With the continuous improvement in the quality requirements of printed cartons, carton packaging design is becoming more and more complex. Complex carton template correspondingly increases the printing and die-cutting accuracy requirements, in order to maintain the error range of ± 0.15mm, qualified die-cutting machine is essential, while paying attention to the adjustment.

2. the replacement template time is too long

Before replacing the carton template needs to do a good job of preparation. With the centerline of the equipment as a reference, you can easily set up accurate die-cutting tools, including carton full-size template, pre-press die-cutting plate. Also, the pre-assembly process of die-cutting tools and fine-tuning the machine reduces the time for repeated adjustments. Usually changing templates for the same carton including automatic stripping can be done in less than 30 minutes with a good management system.

3. Too many connection points

Carton end-users always ask for smaller connection points, and manufacturers always make faster machines, which makes operation more difficult. To reduce the difficulty, the connection point should be a stress point, use a grinder with a hard strip or cork on the knife to prevent the connection point from breaking, and the connection point can be smaller and smaller.

4. High rejection rate

Many printers usually have a very high rejection rate. There is some waste in the die-cutting adjustment process, which can be reduced by using the right tools and the right steps. Waste caused by stopping the paper jam during the run, proper alignment and accurate tool preparation can reduce scrap rates. In addition, manual waste removal will increase waste and reduce profitability.

Automatic die-cutting and creasing machines: Best uses and applications

Since the introduction of automatic die-cutting machinery, programmable media forming tools have flourished. The device works like a Zen master living in a flexible industrial engine that machine creases processed media as if it were producing some perfectly folded origami structure. As colorful as this opening description sounds, it really is a powerful introduction to the best uses and applications for this self-regulating device. Automated box and carton construction The programmable die-cutting assembly works in concert with the creasing module to cut the contours of boxes and cartons from rigid card stock. Assembled without staples or tape, high tolerance cuts and crease line slots are sewn together to form boxes and beverage cartons. Not surprisingly, this industrial and commercial base has outpaced all other applications, with the packaging industry growing year after year as more and more goods come from online retailers and their warehouses.   Glass and mortar storefronts ...

Understanding the Die-cutting Process in Custom Packaging

The die-cutting process is a popular manufacturing technique in the packaging industry. It involves the use of dies used to cut soft materials into various packaging designs and shapes. The ability to produce custom packaging in volume is where the true value of the die-cutting process lies. Die-cut packaging is easier, faster and more cost effective, allowing for the creation of custom packaging on a larger scale.  In this article, we'll explore the die-cutting process and its role in custom packaging.  You will also see.  ● Die-cut boxes explained in detail ● How cutting dies are made ●Die-cutting technology  ● The FEFCO corrugated packaging category  ● Finishing options that complement die-cut box design   Understanding the die-cutting process A cutting die is essentially a giant cookie cutter that is pressed into the material to form the desired shape of the package. Die cutting has come a long way from its origins in the shoe industry during the indust...

How are cutting dies made?

The development of cutting die technology and manufacturing techniques ensures the most efficient and accurate   die-cut box design . Typically, the package outline is generated by Computer-Aided Design (CAD). This digital drawing is transferred to a piece of hardwood called a template.  The most sophisticated method of drawing the design on the template is to burn it on the wood surface using a state-of-the-art laser cutter.  The introduction of the laser in this process ensures greater accuracy in drawing on the moldboard.  Cutting dies are made using metal strips called rule or steel rule. The cutting rule is shaped into shape using a rule bender, which bends, cuts and grooves the steel into the desired shape.   Multiple cutting rules can be used in the die cutting process. Each rule has its own function and purpose, depending on the complexity of the package.  Some of the most common rule options are. ● Through-cutting: Through-cutting cuts the packagin...
